Keilani-ism and Sadie-Silly

Today Sadie was having "one of those days" today where she just did not want to cooperate. She has recently been wanting to always wear Keilani's clothes. Today she had on Keilani's Christmas dress, which she has the EXACT same dress. I asked her to take it off and put on regular clothes. She refused and after I scolded her and asked her again, she said to me, "Are you done arguing with me? Mommy, you are not choosing the right!" I tried to help her realize that she was the one not choosing the right since she was being disobedient. She still did not take off the dress and after repeated demands, I was told by her, "Mind your own business. I am NOT going to deal with you right now." Frazzled, I gave up. Some time later she was sitting in a chair and said, "Mommy, I'm sorry. I love you!" I gave her a hug and all was well. She quickly jumped up and went and changed her clothes.

Keilani was talking about Mario and how he always chases her and tries to hit her. Jake asked her how it made her feel when he kissed her. She said, "kind of mad at him...and a teeny bit happy."
I was at work at Costco the other day and Jake and Keilani came in to visit me. I was serving yogurt and gave them each a few samples. On the way out, Keilani said to Jake, "Mommy is doing a great job. I hope that lots of people like her yogurt. Maybe she should make sandwiches, then lots of people would like her sandwiches."
Tonight she saw a wishing star in the sky. Jake asked her what she wished for and she replied, "I want the whole world to be clean with no garbage anywhere on it." Then she said, "I want to go hiking with garbage bags and we can pick up all the garbage that we see on the ground." Sadie made a wish too. She wished for the mountains, the trees, the signs, the road, the water, and the people. I don't think she really got the whole idea of making a wish! But then again, maybe she did.

Recap of Misfortune

I usually try to count my blessings instead of counting my misfortunes, but for some reason tonight I was thinking about how we've had a string of bad luck for about the last 6 months. It all started one day when I was taking some pictures at home and took the camera with me to a going away party to take pictures there. All of a sudden, my camera was not working anymore. I don't know what happened, it just wouldn't work. It was flashing some weird code to me. It still doesn't work. After that, things started to go severely downhill from there. My favorite sunglasses broke, our truck broke down, our car broke down, our Explorer was hit 4 times, my Vitamixer blew up, then later got recalled, our oven stopped working properly, Jake got 2 speeding tickets (which he has never got tickets in his life until then), our laptop went wacko, the kids TV broke, our ipod got broken, our portable DVD player won't recognize DVD's and therefore will not play them, and now, as of today, our vacuum blew up. Yay for me I guess I get to spend my birthday money on a new vacuum. I've always wanted a vacuum for my birthday...and a nice colander with a handle, but I already got the colander. With all this happening it compels me to shout, "What have I done to deserve this?" Probably a lot of things. I don't know.

Keilani-ism

"Daddy, you look like Kronk when you cook."

When Jake was asking Keilani what she liked about mommy, she said a few things and he told her that he liked it when mommy kissed him. She said, "I know you do." Then she thought for a minute and then said, "Remember when we were at Carly's house and you asked her who she was going to marry and she said Zack? And then you asked me who I was going marry and I said Indy?" Jake said "Yes." (this conversation was about nine months ago when we were visiting family out in Illinois). Then she said, "I changed my mind." Jake said "Who are you going to marry now?" She said, "Mario!" Then noticing what sparked the change in the conversation, Jake asked: "Has a boy ever kissed you?" She got a smile and said, "Yes." "Where?" "On the lips." "Who was it?" "Mario. But I didn't like it." Jake asked her what she said to him, but she didn't say anything.
Apparently it was in the basement of the Jones' house. Then Jake told her that his first kiss was in kindergarten also to a girl named Megdalen. Keilani liked that name. Later when I got home from work, I asked her about it and she wouldn't tell me. I'm glad that our kids can talk to at least one of us about those things!

Sadie Silly & Keilani-ism

Yesterday I was trying to wake Sadie up in the morning and she rolled over and said, "We forgot to brush our teeth before we marched into the back with our friends." I love it when the kids talk in their sleep. It makes me giggle!

The other day we were getting ready to go somewhere and Keilani was all ready and Sadie was taking forever...as usual. So, Keilani asked if she could run across the street and say hi to the neighbors real quick. I said that would be fine, so off she went while I battled with Sadie to get her ready. A few minutes later Keilani comes home and says, "I saw Owen's balls." You can imagine the first thing that came into my head was, 'she is never going over there again!' Curious and trying to give the neighbor the benefit of the doubt, I asked, "What did they look like?" She said, "Oh, he had basketballs, baseballs, all kinds of balls." I was so relieved that it was those kind of balls. You just can never be too careful these days.
